Participants will be given the opportunity to share their work for constructive feedback. The course is suitable for writers working in all forms: poetry, short fiction, novels, memoir, drama, etc. Individual feedback & guidance will be offered by the instructor.

Creative Writing for Beginners

Have you ever wanted to write but were uncertain how to begin? Or have you already started writing but are uncertain how to proceed? Creative Writing for Beginners will guide you through the process of writing in a friendly and supportive way. Individual feedback & guidance will be offered by the instructor.

Topics covered will include: Getting started, ideas & first drafts, editing & revising. In fiction we will explore plot development, characterisation, setting, dialogue, & scene. In poetry we will discuss rhyme & rhythm, the importance of line and verse, image & metaphor etc.
